U.S. House of Representatives approves $1.4 trillion spending package, includes 3.1% increase for federal employees

The House passed a $1.4 trillion spending package that will fund the federal government for the rest of the fiscal year, the Senate is expected to follow suit.

The White House has reportedly indicated that President Donald J. Trump will sign the legislation to prevent a shutdown before the deadline at midnight on Dec. 20.

Among other things, the spending package includes the House’s goal of a 3.1 percent pay increase for civilian federal employees. In its legislative efforts, the National Border Patrol Council has supported the 3.1 percent increase for federal employees.
